Misconfigured search or FTP problem?

Hi!

I've many documents stored to a folder in the repository. This folder should and is accessible by a subset of known users. But searching the repository never finds any file in that folder. Not with users who can access nor wirh users who can not access that folder.
If I copy a subfolder of that folder to a UserHome folder I can, a few seconds later, search and find those files in the copied folder. But still not in the original one.

The files in the original Folder have been created by ftp upload.
What could be wrong in that case?

Thank you very much for your help!

What search query are you using?    The "usual" problem is that there's no metadata extractor been run.

Hi!

I'm trying to find documents by filename or content.
Just entering "database" without the " should find something.
And yes I clicked for repository search… 😞

Searching for "database" after moving a subfolder of my large folder to a user home is successful.
But not in the folder to which I uploaded my documents with ftp…

Hi!

Just found out, that, if I put a file in a directory like
sites/firstlevel/file
It can be found by search.

But if I put any file in a directory like
sites/firstlevel/secondlevel/file
it can not be found…

Is there an option to limit indexing depth?
