Email space users works only for administrator

Hi everybody,

I have installed the trial version of Alfresco Enterprise 3.2r for evaluation. I have created several spaces and for each space I have assigned different user groups to different roles, following the examples of chapter 10 on "Collaboration and syndication" of the Alfresco eBook by Munwar Shariff.
When I go to the "Email space users" action I get this message:

There are no users or groups assigned to this space, press Cancel to exit the dialog.

It seems to work only if I login as administrator. I tried to find posts related to this problem, but I could find only an old one related to version 2.9 that had no replies.
I tried many times.
Am I missing something trivial? Or it is a known bug?

Thanks in advance for your help

ciao Francesco

Hi everybody,

I searched the jira to see if there are any open bug, but I could not find any. I would like to know if there is anybody else having the same problem. It is very strange that nobody else has had to deal with it, so it is likely that it is my fault. But I really cannot understand what I am  doing wrong.

thanks again to anybody helping me

ciao Francesco

I don't have this issue with either 3.2 or 3.3 community. Do you have actual groups assigned to roles or just individuals?

This feature works fine with 3.2 and 3.3 versions.  Please note that you need to have at least one individual or a group assigned (invited) to this space.  This invitation could be done either by Administrator or anyone who has "coordinator" role on that space.

When you select Email Space Users action, then groups and individual users who have access to this space will be listed as email Message Recipients.  You can choose to email the entire group or only certain users in the group by expanding the group icon.

In order to control the activities/actions, you need to be a coordinator on that space.

To confirm this feature works great if mail is working and if there are some users associated to space.

Hi,
I confirm the behavior posted by milesif.

Following munwar's book, I logged in as "mike" (member of Engineering group) and browsed to the Engineering Department space. The Engineering group is Coordinator of the space.

Clicking More Actions - View Details - Email Space Users, I get the same error:
There are no users or groups assigned to this space, press Cancel to exit the dialog.

My environment is: Alfresco 3.3 Community on Linux, browser Firefox 3.5.9.

Thanks,
f
