Configuration Under Tomcat 6

Excuse the newbie question, but where should the user modified configuration files live in a Tomcat 6 install?

Documents reference <tomcat home>/shared/classes but those directories don't exist and creating them doesn't work.

I tried using <tomcat home>/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/extension but that didn't work either.

Currently I have them under <tomcat home>webapps/alfresco/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/extension which doesn't seem correct with the prospect of losing them on an upgrade.

Thanks in advance,

-steve

It appears that the "shared" folder has been removed in TomCat6 - this is a shame.

Does anyone know a solution?

Thanks,

Kevin

Hello Kevin, I was able to install the community edition under Tomcat 6 placing all shared alfresco/extension under <tomcat_home>/lib. I also had to change the Alfresco repository.properties file under weapps/alfresco/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco, modifying the dir.root setting to an absolute path (C:/Programmi/apache-tomcat-6-0-14/alf_data).

I will try later to set a relative path.

I hope this can be useful.

Greetings.

We are running alfresco on tomcat6. The other gotcha is the handling of the endorsed folder.

When using eclispe WTP it wants it to be uder <tomcat>/common/endorsed. These folders are not part of the default install, so we needed to create them.
