communicate with another app?

Hello all,

I'm supposed to have my Alfresco WCM communicate with another in-house application.  Is that a web services thing?  This is my first Alfresco coding-project. I haven't a clue how to begin!  Please advise……

Take a look at Alfresco Web Scripts: http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Web_Scripts. You'll be able to query Alfresco WCM for content.
