CIFS on Alfresco 2.9B not working

Hey,

I can't seem to connect to the CIFS server.  Possibly because of the domain problems.  Howevere with my alfresco release came the README.txt from 2.1 which states to use the file: file-server-custom.xml and add the domain setting to the <host name /> property.
Problem is, there is no hostname property in that file and I have ran the server twice already.
I cannot connect saying I might have insufficient privileges.  I had a colleage try on his machine, he can't find the CIFS "${localname}_A" at all.

Any thoughts?

Hi

Try connecting to "${localname}A" i.e. without the underscore.

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks man, that works Smiley Happy

edit: any idea how I can specify a domain in the config?  Who knows what I'll need it for.

And imo it's not a good idea to include an outdated readme.txt with outdated info in a release.

There's more information here:
http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/File_Server_Configuration#SMB.2FCIFS_Server_Configuration

Although if your current configuration works, you probably don't need the domain.

Welcome to the world of pre-beta "for testing only" software 😉
