Best way to start Alfresco?

Hi,

Right now, In rc.local (Fedora Core 4), I just:
1. set JAVA_HOME and add it to PATH
2. cd /opt/alfresco (alf_data and alfresco.log get created in / if this is omitted.  I'm a newbie but this cannot lead to anything good…)
3. ./alfresco.sh start

Is there a canned script or a better way to do this that I'm not aware of?  Just looking for the "right way" to do it.

Thanks,
John

Hi,

That looks fine.  A working application is always a good place to start an investigation.

The relative path for the alf_data directory is just to allow for quick starting during evaluation.  You probably want to move that folder somewhere more permanent and change the Alfresco server to point to it.  See this previous post for details.
