Alfresco archiving?

Does Alfresco have any built in archiving functionality?  in 3.2 EE?

What do you mean by Archiving?

Are you taking about Records Management or Content Storage Policies?   Or something else?

Records Management might be what I am looking for.  Is it a separate module to be downloaded for 3.2 EE?  How do we access it?

Yes it's two separate modules, one for the share client and one for the repo.     The Enterprise version of RM is not yet available although it is due soon.

Hi,

I am currently using 3.2 community edition installed on Windows XP & Vista. I would like to know about the backup, restore & archiving options available with this edition.

All these are pertaining to document archival & backup. Say my hard disk or OS crashes then how do I restore the documents with their properties.
regarding the same, please also let know in which path (installation path or hard disk path) are the documents stored once uploaded and all relevant steps that need to be followed to manually archive or take a backup on external tapes/ drives (eg - whether I need to take only document backup or entire database bakcup to effect this).

but still my query remains regarding the path (installation path / directory) where the documents get uploaded to. Where do I check if I want to check in the disk drives? Please let know on this.

It gets stored where you configure it to go …

Specifically your dir.root property points to the "root" and the file will be stored somwhere below that root.  
You will find people talk about the "alf_data" folder since that's the default name for it.

If you have not configured anything this will be <ALF_HOME>/alf_data/contentstore

The link mentioned above says "Alfresco includes a background job responsible for backing up the Lucene indexes that (by default) is configured to run at 3am each night."… could you let know any further details on this job?? any links/documents regarding this job (how it works, prerequisites and pre run & post run diffrences/features)… since i dont find any regarding in the feature details or product help…
