Add multiple users to a site without invitation

Hello together,

we are using Alfresco with a multiple number of users. Some sites have just a few members, so we do this by inviting them. However, we have a number of sites where all users need to have access. Is there any possibility to add these sites to all users' "My Sites"?

Thanks for your help!

In 4.2.x, if I'm an admin I can add myself to any group with any role.
  /share > +More > Groups > Show System Groups > Browse
  [select the site you want.e., "swsdp (site_swsdp)" > site_swsdp_Collaborator > +person_icon
    > search for myself and click the add button

You should be able to add everyone in an already existing group the same way (except you'd select +group_icon, the one which, if you hover over it, says Add Group).

But that would require an actual group of which everyone is a member.  Typing "Everyone" in the search box doesn't work.  That seems to be a meta or virtual group, not a real one (it's available as an option when setting folder or file permissions, but it doesn't appear when you go to /alfresco > Manager User Groups and select all groups).

Hi,

thanks for your quick response. That seems to work, but as you already said, I've to create a group with all users.
We are almost 200 people, so adding everyone manual is very time-consuming. Is there any faster way to add multiple users to a group?

Thanks in advance!

I've used this method for users and it works like a charm, but when I attempt it with groups I get a big fat fail.
Specifically:
The user IS granted the appropriate access to a site via adding a group the user is a member of to the appropriate site-specific group (site_ABC_managers, for instance), but the site fails to show up in the user's My Sites list.
When the user searches for the site and clicks through to it, he has 2 Request To Join buttons at the top right of the screen - clicking either of them grants a pop-up success window and then the site appears in the user's My Sites list. Craziness, I know!
Anyone have any ideas about this? Ideally, adding a group of users to a site-specific group would work exactly like adding users, but that's not the case.
Oh, and I'm running 4.2.c on a CentOS x64 box. Thanks!
