I am seeing a similar problem and I am using Enterprise 3.1.

Was a solution found for this?

EDIT:
I think this might be a serious bug in 3.1.

I go to my web project within the alfresco explorer client.
I select "Actions > Invite Web Project Users"
I search for a particular user and select that user in the "results" area.
Then I select "Content Manager" from the "Role" area and click the "Add to List" button.
The user gets added to the list as a content manager as expected.
I then hit "next", skip sending an email, hit "next" again and on the summary screen hit "finish".

All seems well, no errors in client or on server.

However, if I now go to "Actions > Invite Web Project Users" again for the same project the user is no longer in the "Selected users/groups and their role(s)" list at the bottom of the page.
Obviously then when I login as that user and try to make edits I see the access denied error message.

I have tried this in ENT 3.1 on windows XP with derby, and also same version but on RHEL with a MYSQL DB but with the same results.

Can someone please confirm this is a bug? and maybe a possible workaround?
Thanks.

If this is a bug it needs to be confirmed quickly so it can maybe be fixed for 3.2??

I'm having the same problem but in this scenario. I have  set up a rule in a folder . That rule executes a Script whick does certain basic operations. The problem is that if tried with many users (obviously with admin user it works fine)  and all the roles available (coordinator, collaborator…) but this message is thrown :

A system error happened during the operation: Failed to execute script 'workspace://SpacesStore/aab54cba-d718-4f1b-b197-04463be2b518': Access Denied. You do not have the appropriate permissions to perform this operation

Help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 I'm I doing something wrong or it is a bug in ALfresco

I am seeing similar behaviour in Alfresco Labs 3.0 ( Labs - v3.0.0 Stable 1526), content managers are getting the permission denied issue.

I will see if I can get my hands on some log files for more information.

This is a confirmed defect and from what I've heard the fix will be shipped with 3.1 SP1 and 2.2 SP5.

Related to this issue in the the Alfresco JIRA https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ETWOTWO-1177

"Failed to reject the document due to system error: 07100009 Access Denied. You do not have the appropriate permissions to perform this operation."

This issue can be solve if only user privileges are assigned correctly. Assigning user privileges for sub spaces are not enough. You have to assign privileges for inherit(mother/main) spaces also.
By assigning correct privileges you can solve this..
Thx.

Is this bug fixed on 3.2 ?
The same porblem appears on my  Alfresco-Community-3.2.
the suite is running on a redhat linux 5 .
I invited a user to my web project , giving 'Content Manager' role. but I can't create any content as loging in with this user.
the error is the same with above:
"
Please correct the errors below then click Finish.

    * 07250305 Access Denied. You do not have the appropriate permissions to perform this operation.
"

the same operation by admin is OK.
how to fix it?

Hi! All

I am also facing a similar problem in workflow using Alfresco3.1.1. I have created two users A and B having two respective sandboxes weba and webalive. Both having content manager access on their sandboxes. I have given user B as reviewer in the website submission workflow added in sandbox of user A. Now when I submit a content using workflow in sandbox for A and include in autodeploy for ASR deployment, so that when content is submitted and approved it should be deployed to sandbox of B, then I am able to see the workflow in to do list of user B but as soon as he approves the content the content is failing for deployment and I am getting same access denied exception. Please help. Looking forward for your reply.

Thanks in advance
Ruchi

anybody can suggest how to solve it?

everything goes ok with admin user but any other user doesn't seem to be able to submit new content using a particular webform.
