Inquiry About Alfresco Enterprise Features and Purchasing

Hello Alfresco Team and Community,

I’m evaluating Alfresco Enterprise Edition for my organization and would like clarification on the following:

  1. Auditing and Tracking:

    • Does it provide an interface for tracking detailed user actions (e.g., login, document creation/modification, workflows)?
  2. Workflow Customization:

    • Can I create custom workflows with drag-and-drop tools, including custom parameters (e.g., checkboxes, dropdowns)?
  3. Permission Flexibility:

    • Does it support granular permissions for roles, users, groups, files, and folders?

Lastly, what does the purchase include (e.g., Docker images, licenses), and how can I get a quote or trial to evaluate the product?

Hi,

Audit and Tracking:
You can configure audit settings (see documentation) and retrieve events using the REST API (documentation). Currently, there’s no built-in dashboard for audit data. However, in the near future, audit data will be transferable via ActiveMQ to an external application of your choice.

Workflow Customization:
Yes, customization is possible, you need the Digital Business Platform bundle, which includes ACS and APS.

Permission Flexibility:
ACS offers fine-grained permissions at the "node" level, where everything (folders, files, users, etc.) is treated as a node. However, it’s best practice to assign users to groups and manage folder/file permissions via those groups.

Artifacts and Trial:
Subscribers typically get access to private Docker images and source code for relevant modules. For trial access and pricing details, visit this page. It includes a link for trials and an option to "Connect with an Expert" at the bottom.
