How can I install/uninstall HotFix Packages Manually ?

Hello,

I have installed hot-fixes till HF-05 for Nuxeo DM 5.4.2. However, staring HF-06, the hot-fix does not install properly. I am using Tomcat. (I used the installer from the site to install). The problem is that the 'nuxeo-runtime-osgi-5.4.2-HF06.jar' file gets copied to the nxserver/bundles but the older file does not get deleted. Also the changes to the bin and lib folders are not made.

I think the JVM does not release the files for editing/deletion. Any idea on how to fix the issue ?

1f I manually make the necessary changes, it works, but the update center does not install further packages.

Is there any way to install/uninstall packages manually ?

OS: Windoes XP (32 Bit) Backend : MS SQL Server 2005

Thanks. So in summary this is what I understood :

To manually install hotfixes, do the following :

  1. Open the install.xml so see the changes
  2. Make the changes by copying/deleting the files in the respective directories as mentioned in the xml
  3. Mark the package as installed by changing the value related to it in $NUXEO/nxserver/data/packages/.packages. and Set it to 5, then restart Nuxeo DM.

hi,

you can mark the package as installed by changed the value related to it in $NUXEO/nxserver/data/packages/.packages. Set it to 5, then restart your Nuxeo DM. You'll see in the Update Center it is installed.
