Hi,Mike,
Yes the add-in uses the .NET 2.0 framework which will slow down Word a little upon loading. It also uses Internet Explorer to access and display the UI.
The add-in has been designed with the Enterprise in mind - i.e. the Alfresco server will always be available. Although there are some improvements to be made to ensure this initial start-up doesn't block the main Word application, it sounds like you're probably not using it in the environment it's been designed for.
Thanks,
Mike

However, in an enterprise also, it is quite possible that a business user opens word without the intention of saving to alfresco.Another example would be someone like me who uses the same laptop while at work and while traveling. Even now i'm using my laptop at home and believe me its a pain using word with that pop-up slowing it down. I hope you can do something about it.
