Why did not the central Maven repository related activiti dependency, is this what is hiding something what?
In China wants https://maven.alfresco.com/nexus/content/groups/public/ download activiti dependency is almost impossible.

You can try to download the dependencies and manually install them in your local maven repo.

You may try hosting an internal repository, then you can deploy all dependencies that are not available in the central repo (like Activiti). Then you only have to deploy the dependency once, and all members of your team can use them.

Have a look at Artifactory (http://www.jfrog.com/home/v_artifactory_opensource_overview). I've started use a while ago, and it helped me a lot. It's open source, so no cost involved. (I just hope their website is not blocked too).

We use nexus. but that is in the company, when I was at home, or other place (within China), or not convenient.
我们有使用nexus. 但是那是在公司,当我在家,或其他地方(中国范围内)，还是不方便.

There's some work involved in getting the dependencies in the central Maven repository. But I agree we should do this. I'll put it on my todo list.
