Dear all,

Can anyone provide me with the exact syntax supported by the Alfresco web client search box? To my surprise it does not seem to support the full Lucene syntax as I found out when trying things such as proximity and fuzzy searches. This seems to downgrade the overall usefulness of the out-of-the-box full text search facility quite a bit doesn'i it  :cry:? One other remark: the online help on the level of the search facility is extremely un…helpful  Smiley Very Happy

Thanks for your help!

Johan

PS We are currently using Alfresco 3  Labs - v3.0.0 (Stable 1526) but we will be moving to an Alfresco Enterprise … real soon now.

Dear all,

I'm reactivate this thread, because I have problems with exact search in Alfresco Community 3.4.d Web Client.

I'm using the =literalword string to match words exactly, but I'm not finding results.

We want to be capable of searching for literal words inside PDF documents. For a query string like =professional we want all documents which contain the professional word, but not documents which contains profession, professor or other words with the same tokenization.

I supect that the problem may be with the lucene tokenization of documents. I only know a bit about lucene, but the problem may be that the document content is tokenized, so you can only search for tokenized terms.

How can I change the alfresco lucene configuration to perform my required searches?

Best Regards,

Dear all,

I have found a solution, it is not 100% accurate, but it solves my needs.

I have changed the lucene Analyzer to
org.apache.lucene.analysis.SimpleAnalyzer;
for indexing and searching. That analyzer uses the exact words from the field as tokens. That way, when I search for a word, I receive an exact match, because every word is now a token.

For the complete solution, please check this post (in Spanish, I'm sorry): http://forums.alfresco.com/es/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3591

Best regards,
