Hi Guys,
I can use Word and the Sharepoint protocol to connect to a documentLibrary in a share site. Is it possible to connect to the document repository, ie not a library in a site. Seems like it should be as share now supports Repository (DM) views and actions from within the app.
Many thanks

No, that's not possible. The fact that the entire Repository can be browsed from Share is completely unrelated to the Sharepoint protocol implementation.
Please raise an enhancement request in JIRA if you like.
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks Mike. Its definately a feature that makes sense to me.
Can you then tell me is it possible to use office to work in the repository. Do any of the alfresco office plugins support it.
Regards
Brian

The older Office add-ins can access documents anywhere in the Repository, yes. They have no concept of Sites, as they were developed before Share was born.
Thanks,
Mike
