Usage Quota and HTTP Connections

I'm pretty much new with alfresco and maybe this is not right sub-forum for this question, but still:

Using Alfresco Community 4.0e

I need to make a module that will report current usage quota of the whole site and all the http concurrent connections on the web server (e.g. using Alfresco Share simultaneously).
This module is needed since I have limited resources (both disk space and weak web server/Processor/RAM).
I thought i should make a dashlet  so the admin can see this information in real time.
So my questions are:

1)Where can I find this information (site usage quota and http connections on web server)?
Are they in Repository, or should i do OS file size count and netstat?

2) In which direction should I proceed: dashlets,WebScripts…?
Any head start would be appreciated.

Hi

Thanks for the helpful links on quota usage.
Still HTTP connections problem remains unsolved.
Should I try to measure tomcat's sessions?
Or Parse a netstat (as last resort)?
