Upload dialog shows nothing

Hello everyone,

When I try to upload something, anything, to the Document library, a window pops up labeled "Upload File(s)", presumably waiting for me to select some files. Unfortunately, the message "No files to display, click icon to select file(s) to upload" appears with nothing else. There's a Cancel button at the bottom, but no way to do anything else. There's no icon to click.  I'm running Firefox 3.0 (and have tried 3.1 as well as Opera 9.x) with Flash 10 on an OpenSUSE 11.1 notebook.

Any suggestions on how this issue can be resolved?

Thanks, and take care out there.

Hi

Do you get any JavaScript errors? Could you upload a screenshot of what you're seeing (e.g. to http://imageshack.us/ ) please?

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks for the reply Mike.  Here's a screenshot of the upload window.

There should be a Flash-provided icon next to the "Select files" title, but clearly this isn't getting rendered. Do you have any addon that might be blocking Flash?

Also note that we don't officially support Opera - I don't think much testing has been done with it either.

Thanks,
Mike

No Flash blockers of any kind.

That's okay. I mentioned Opera to let you know that I had tried this with more than just Firefox.

Okay, so this is weird.  If I resize the browser window, even slightly, while the upload dialog is up, the icon for selecting a file appears. I can then select and upload, without any trouble. However, if I try to repeat the procedure, but select icon is gone and I need to, yet again, resize the browser to make it appear.

Very strange. We've seen some problems with Firefox and Flash when the Flash movie is loaded after the main page, but this shouldn't be the case any more.

I'm not sure what we can do about it, unfortunately… ideas most welcome!

I have been getting exactly the same behaviour with Firefox (Iceweasel) 3.0.5 on Debian lenny.
Also the GNOME web browser (which uses gecko-1.9), but not always.
Resizing the window does cause the icon to appear, thanks wftl  😎

I am surprised that this behaviour is still present in 3.2!

Having to resize the window is not very elegant. Is there some other, more permanent, fix?

I am using Firefox 3.0.11, Ubuntu 9.04

Roger.

For info: I am having the same problem, using Ubuntu 9.04 64bit.  (Thank you for pointing out the window resize workaround!)

I can attest to the same behaviour using Firefox 3.0.11 & Epiphany Web Browser 2.26.1.

Using Google Chrome i get the "With the latest Flash Player installed, you can upload multiple files. Download it from the Adobe Flash Player Download Center." dialog box.

I have been unable to recreate the behaviour using Opera/9.64 . (It seems to work every time).

Did I say thank you? Well thanks again.
