Tomcat 7

Hello i'm new to Alfresco, but I want to use the newer Tomcat from the packet manager in Alfresco. Is this posible or are there any hints/tips and or tricks to achive this?

Hi,
here you can find the Alfresco compatibility matrix http://www.alfresco.com/services/subscription/supported-platforms
It will give you all the officially supported configurations.
You will see that the newest Tomcat supported version is 6.0.35

Obviously it doesn't mean that it won't work at all - I didn't tried that version - but that if you are having troubles with that it will be difficult to have support from Alfresco.

I'm using 7.0.42 for Alfresco 4.2 - seems to work O.K.  

IIRC there are some SSL issues with Java 7,  but I don't know of any problems with Tomcat 6 to 7 migration.

So I hope in the next version of the compatibility matrix we could see this enhancement…
