I'm currently positioning Alfresco (Community) as my company's new intranet/dms solution, Some of our technical consultants (myself included) found that the Blog-integration was simply not good enough. The main point is that the tags you apply to a blog post in a share site are not propagated to the external blog when doing an external publish. To make a long story short, I've submitted a contribution ticket http://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ALF-8410 where I've uploaded a patch that makes the blog-integration module propagate tags to an external WordPress blog (not implemented for TypePad since I have no way of testing that.)
Did anybody else miss this feature?
The next logical step would be to consider WordPress Categories. This would require some sort of GUI-interaction (webscripts/ftl/js) since it would seem that a WordPress installation only accepts posts in categories which are already defined in the WordPress site. I imagine that either the "configure external blog" view or the "publish externally" action be augmented to query the WordPress blog for supported categories and present them to the user for selection. Any thoughts?
