Someone create a layer above Alfresco using just web script

If I want customize all Alfresco for a project.Can I just only web scripts?If I want to use Alfresco's security system and it CMS.Can I do?I'm want create new categorys and upload some documents and edit some too.
Is this possible using web scripts?
I'll program in Java language, but the language is not problem.

This is 100% built using WebScripts. I'm just starting an Alfresco Forge Project for further developing under GPL.
