Share and Content Rules

I know I need to find some documentation and read up a bit, but I'm hoping for a quick answer to this one.

When I enter the "sites" space via the regular Alfresco web client, there's a notice that says that I should let Share manage all of the content within.  However, it seems like the Share document library doesn't expose the same feature set as the web client.  Is it possible to use features like Content Rules in the Alfresco Share document library?  If so, do I set them up using the web client?

Yes. The bottom line is: you can configure rules, etc. in the Explorer (JSF) client to spaces under the Sites root, but all bets are off as to the effect on the Share components and any "odd" behaviour that might result.

We are planning to add rules natively to Share this year.

Has the latest Enterprise 3.1 release taken into consideration any of the bugs that may come about when accessing/configuring Sites via Explorer/Share?
Also, has any email notifications functionality been introduced to Ent 3.1?
