Server startup time problem

I don't know if this is the correct forum to post my problem, but i haven't find a proper place to do it

I have downloaded & installed alfresco community edition 3.2
When i select "start alfresco server" (i am using windows xp if it does matter), a window called "MySQL" and one called "Tomcat" are opened.
Then it takes a loooong time before the server starts (i am talking about 20 minutes, or as the tomacat windows says, at least 1 milion milliseconds). Seeing the time progression in the window, it take about 15 minutes on the line "[alfresco.util.OpenOfficeConnectionTester] The OpenOffice connection was re-established"
It's a normal thing or it's just a porblem of mine?
I can't really wait 20 minutes every time i start my pc to use alfresco =(

20 minutes is too long.   But alfresco can take a while to start, especially the first time when its configuring the database.

It sounds like you have a networking issue or other problem connecting to open office.      If you remove 15 minutes waiting to contact open office.   Then five minutes or so, although bad, is not unexpected.

Thanks for the answer!
Well if i can reduce the time from 20 to 5 minutes it will be more than acceptable
But i have absolutely no idea about where's the problem and how to resolve it. The first time I've tried to install alfresco i hadn't installed openoffice, but the problem was the same. I thought it was because i hadn't openoffice, so I installed it, but no progress was made.
Any idea?
