search using tags

Hi,
Can anyone help me, understand how to tag documents and how to search using tags in alfresco explorer.

Use the "Run Action" command to add the "Taggable" aspect. You will then get a "Tag" property which will give you a tag picker on the edit page.

It's a little clunky in the Explorer app. One way to make it easier is to create a rule that automatically adds the aspect for new content.

thanks alot, i did that.. i can tags the documents
but i am unable to search these documents using the tags.. it doesnt give me any results..
plz help

Hi

In recent versions of Alfresco you can search tags using the TAG field.

In the implementation this builds:

"PATH:\"/cm:taggable/cm:" + ISO9075.encode(tag.toLowerCase()) + "/member\""

Share at least lowercases all tags ….

Hi Andy,
I am using alfresco 3.4d, but still unable to see search results using tags.Which recent version has search using tags??
In advance search, in "show me results in the categories" I added "tags", still the search doesn't show any documents.
I think I am missing a step here, please explain how can I configure search using tags.

Hi

The enterprise releases search includes TAGs by default when you type in the search box.
You will have to write your own queries - as a above - and integrate it yourself - or wait for 4.0 where this is included.
You can search for tags via the Java search API (but not using the TAG field unless you go to 3.4E or wait until 4.0) - you have to build the PATH expression above.
4.0 will also allows you to customize the search expression used.

Please help. I have installed the new community version 4.0 and tried using the "taggable" aspect, but I think search doesn't include TAGS by default. Can you please tell me how to enable this option in 4.0 ..
