Search not working

I have installed the alfresco windows version form exe. My search does not works. I have tried uploding pdf files. It cannot serch either by document name or in lucene. Can any one suggest that what is the issue?

Explorer search or share search.
Or you are trying from the node browser.
Post your query incase you are using any.

Both is not working. Even the i cant search by the document name or type.

are you trying with the admin rights?
As the permission could be the issue.make sure the user with which you are trying to search has access to those documents.
