Sample Preview Issue on WCM

I am using Alfresco 2.1, and have installed WCM on top of it. I followed "WCM2_1-Product-Evaluation-Guide.pdf" to create web forms and web application. But when I am trying to preview the site, its trying to access following link:
         "http://alfrescosample.www--sandbox.127-0-0-1.ip.alfrescodemo.net:8180/" .
But I am getting error as "Page can not be displayed".
I modified "alfresco-virtserver.properties", and added doted IP address as follows:

alfresco.virtserver.domain=173-14-54-243.ip.alfrescodemo.net

Where 173-14-54-243 is my IP address.
But again after clicking on "Preview Website" its trying to access following link:
"http://alfrescosample.www--sandbox.173-14-54-243.ip.alfrescodemo.net:8180/"
and again getting error as "Page can not be displayed".

My computer is in network, and I have bypassed the network access using Internet Option–>Connection–>LAN Setting
–>Advanced and added "alfrescosample.www" string in "Do Not use Proxy server for addresses" textbox.

Any kind of help would be highly appreciated.

It sounds like the virtualisation server either isn't running, or is running but is not listening on port 8180.

might be a proxy issue. are you running behind a proxy ?? bypass *.alfrescodemo.net instead on the browser.

Virtual server is running on port 8180 and I tried bypassing " *.alfrescodemo.net " in the browser. But Nothing worked yet.

Hi, The problem is resolved.
I just added an entry to my hosts file and it worked.

127.0.0.1       alfrescosample.www–sandbox.127-0-0-1.ip.alfrescodemo.net

have you done that on linux or windows? i am on windows and it didn't work for me. on linux I can make it work by modifying /etc/hosts  but no way in windows. I use Firefox and I have "No proxy"

I solved my problem, actually the hosts file was right. the virtual-server was starting with errors and i din't fix them thinking they weren't important. i fix them with this post :
