Hi,

I am new to Alfresco, I would like to know whether rating a document is available, like 3 star or 5 star something like that.

Thanks,
Senthil.

Not out-of-the-box - but it is something you could add easily using a custom model extension:
http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Data_Dictionary_Guide
http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Displaying_Custom_Metadata

Thanks,

Kevin

The documentation will not tell you how to implement a rating document.  It shows how to extend the "content model"  You will have need to extend the model in ways which are useful to you.

In your case you might want to create an aspect called rateable or rankable.
The aspect could be as simple as a simple value to hold the "rank"

You would the follow the documentation on how to expose the value/aspect in the webclient.

Thank you smooch for your reply, by using a custom model extension guide I could able to add custom properties, I found some data types like int, text, boolean etc.,

I wanted to have that field as list box, please provide some clue how to make a property as list box.

Thanks&Regards
