postgre not installed in windows

I am using windows 8 64 bit system. I have installed Enterprise edition and the installed completed successfully.However I couldn't log in with the admin details provided (password : admin) while installing

I tried to enter the postgre sql console by typing in psql at command prompt

it says that 'admin' is not recognized as an internal or external command,

Please help me how I can fix this?

Did you try running SQL Shell (psql) from windows start menu ?
Attaching two snapshots.
Secondly, did you try with the password - "postgres" ?

Thanks for the prompt reply.

In my installation, there is no such PostgreSQL menu item which appears in the start menu. I got the psql running by placing the path of the postgre bin folder in the system PATH variable.
I've tried both the password 'admin' given while installation and also 'postgres' as you told to try.

Please see the attachment where both had not worked.
