Option to publish static content to DVD?

My client currently uses a proprietary web content management system for their Quality Management which has worked OK but with less than optimal check in/check out and workflow capabilities for the development of site content.  However, they now need a separately branded site for a joint venture with additional content from the other JV partner.  One particular requirement is for the Quality Procedures to be available on sites that have no internet access.  They want to be able to publish to DVD and provide these DVDs to those who don't have access to the web server that provides the content.

From my very brief look at this site, it looks like Alfresco would provide the ability to manage the creation and storage of the Quality documents.  Would Alfresco be a suitable solution for serving the content on an intranet AND publishing the content to DVD?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Depending upon your content and requirements yes.

Some thoughts
* if the web site is static content then you can use WCM deployment to deploy to DVD as well as to a web server.
* If the web site is dynamic content then you would have to run some sort of program to access content.   It can be done.
* could you run alfresco itself from DVD?    There are instances in these forums when people have run alfresco on a USB key.  It may be possible to run alfresco with its content store directly from  DVD.

Thank you for your swift reply.  I will try and investigate a bit further since it all seems feasible.  The current system is dynamic (Lotus Domino based) but I think we could server static content going forward.
