Today I installed Alfresco 3.2 Community Release and was successfully able to login as admin on to alfresco, but later on when i tried to login into share as same user it gave me the below error:

The remote server may be unavailable or your authentication details have not been recognized.

Is there any configuration to be carried out for this?

On which port are you running Alfresco?
Share expects it to be on 8080, at least that was the case before, and it was hardcoded in Share scripts.

Normally It should work. I just installed it and everything worked fine.

Just to follow up, there is a good wiki page on how to change the ports from the default 8080 to something else:
http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Changing_Default_Port_Configuration

(You may also have this problem if you're trying to force https, which uses 8443 by default instead of 8080.)
