Migration from Alfresco 3.4.d 32 Bit to 64 Bit

Hi,

I am presently using Alfresco Version 3.4d 32bit installed on a Ubuntu Server. As I need to upgrade to the latest Alfresco version 4.2 or later, its understood that upgrade process cannot be done directly to 4.2 and it has to be to 4.0 first and then to 4.2. Also, 32 bit Alfresco community files are not available.

Would appreciate if anyone can advise how i can initiate the up-gradation steps from 3.4d to 4.2. Also, please advice how to migrate my existing Alfresco installation from 32 to 64bit.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Binu Manickkam.

The binary packages of Alfresco are the same, but you are using the Community version of Alfresco and this means that the upgrade process is not supported and the upgrade paths provided for the Enterprise version don't work.

For upgrading your Alfresco instance you should install ALL the alfresco Community versions step by step and for each step you must execute a cold backup of the repository. Each community release will install all the partial patches of the repository.

Using the Enterprise version you could jump many steps, but unfortunately this is not your case:

Hope this helps.
