Join us for TTL 166, we will revisit OOTBee Support Tools for Alfresco.
Starting out as an idea for a global virtual hackathon in 2016, the OOTBee Support Tools has become a standard tool / extension to be installed in Alfresco Content Services for a number of long-term members of the Alfresco community. Enterprise customers or people new to the community in general often may not be aware of the existence of long-standing addons. This session will give an overview of the existing capabilities of the OOTBee Support Tools, contrast these to the original tools they were based on or that have since been integrated as forks, and give an outlook into potential future extensions and additions. Given the longtime pending eventual end-of-life for Alfresco Share, some administrative functionality is indirectly bound to be lost or only be available to users of the Enterprise-only Control Center UI or 3rd-party ADF-based apps. Via collaboration in the Alfresco community, OOTBee Support Tools could retain such functionalities as part of the core Content Services application.
