Manage content permissions

Hello,

I am newbie to alfresco, i am looking for manage content type level permissions, such as only Collaborator can be able to create a new content and user with consumer as role can Read the content,But i found a user with consumer role can create content in his own user space. is there any way i can manage such permission on the content.

Permissions are managed by folder. So a user who can create content in their own user home may or may not be able to create content in some other folder. If you want them to only be able to read content, make them a Consumer on that folder.
