I'm researching CMS packages for a client; they need to be able to support three languages, English, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese, from within one website. I have searched around for localization/internationalization features and don't see much. Is this not an area of strength for Alfresco, or am I just not looking in the right place?
thanks,
janine

Alfresco is very good in localization. English is the default language pack, but i already found chinese and simplified chinese. However, you never know what the quality of the translation is. And because of the rapid development of Alfresco i'm not sure if these language packs have followed the recent new versions.

If i were you i would install Alfresco and have a look at the translations. You can always improve or extend the translation (and return them to the community).

Thanks for that, but I see I need to clarify my question. My biggest concern is not the translations of the Alfresco UI; the people uploading content all speak English, so that is not really all that important. What I need is the ability to upload an article in three different languages and serve the right one depending on what language the end-user wants to see. Does Alfresco have anything like that?

Hmm.. Thats in Alfresco too. But i never used it or read about it. Here is a wiki article. Maybe an Alfrescian can reply on this topic too.
