Sorry if this isnt the right forum, but I wanted to share that we went live last week at Care.com. Currently, all of our "Articles and Resources" sections are under management, but we are looking to expand that to many more areas of the site(below is 1 example from our Childcare Section).
Our implementation was perhaps a little different than the norm in that we incorporated alfresco into an existing java site and alfrefsco provides pieces of content to our application through a database(not a rtl).
I would love to hear from anyone else who has this sort of implementation and the challenges and sucesses…some of ours were workflows, previews(these 2 are related in that as part of the process an approver would want to preview the entire application, and using the existing preview wouldnt work for us) and deployments(synching with an external db and versions). We developed workarounds to most and have been working with eyestreet on the deployment piece.
Currently Alfresco WCM is about managing your existing website files - versioning/workflow change sets of modifications to your website and allowing multiple users to work on the same site in isolation with preview of changes against the whole site. It does not yet provide "simple" start pages or components for building the website itself i.e. menus etc. We intend to provide helper components to do this in a later version. On the Alfresco Forge I believe the community has provided a sample website and set of example components to get you going.
