Does alfresco support live search?
would it be hard to implement it?

What exactly do you mean by "live" search? Do you mean searching within the "current" folder automatically? Or something else…?

With live search I mean the following.
If you're typing, it alreay show in a listbox the avaible results (eg from all the contents).
e.g. if you typed the letter "d" it already show all the contents in de listbox which start with a d, if you then type an "e" (so "de"), it shows you all the contents which start with "de".

We are looking at improving some of our components using AJAX technologies - so this kind of thing will be more feasible yes.

So at this moment ajax isn't supported in alfresco?

Not so much that it isn't "supported" - just that we haven't used any AJAX components yet. As our UI framework is JSF, we need an integration point for generic AJAX components, we are looking at that right now.

I will have to implement an AJAX search in my current project. Maybe you could release some more snippets on the search of Alfresco for connection.
I would be glad to contribute.

As Kev said above we are currently looking into AJAX capabilities for the web client, in fact I've just finished a short review of the major AJAX toolkits around at the moment, you can find the results here: http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/1.3_UI_AJAX

I also noticed that you have created a project in the forge for your search component, the results above may help you.

As a background task I'm going to be creating a prototype AJAX space picker component, maybe we can help each other?
