Liferay/Share Portlet create user and password automatically

Hello,
I integrated Alfresco Share (3.4) portlet into Liferay (5.3) for a non-profit organisation. Everything works fine. When a new user registers in Liferay and opens the portlet the first time the user with Liferay's screen name is automatically created in Alfresco database. But the thing is that the user is created without a password, thus the user cannot use the Alfresco Share application to create sites etc (except the password is added by the admin by hand afterwards). Here's my question. How can I change a script that a user is automatically created with Liferay's screen name and password in Alfresco database when it opens the portlet the first time?

Do I have to change this part in alfresco-global.properties?

authentication.chain=alfrescoNtlm1:alfrescoNtlm,external1:external
external.authentication.proxyUserName=

Hope anyone can help me.

Myden

PS: I followed this tutorial for integration http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Portlets

Hi myden,

i am struggling with this as well,

so far i have the portlets added to new site in liferay and a new user is created in alfresco on first connect to the share app from liferay.  still testing and very new to this but just wanted you to know you are not alone!

I too followed the wiki link.

I note that the new user in Alfresco has no quota or first name lastname.  In liferay the upload buttong within the share portal is greyed out which is prob due to this.

Still hoping this solution can provide user self-registration for my use case, more investigations required.

thanks to all the alfresco mods for their great work.

Ok, so now I have the upload button in the liferay portlet available and am able to upload docs.  Very happy indeed!

I had to modify the user in alfresco app to add lastname, quota and in share app to put them in a group.

Now to figure out how to automate the addition of these fields to self-register with upload capabilities in the portlet.  maybe an alfresco script for new registration.
