LDAP integration possible?

Have a working "login" with Activiti 5.7 via an LDAP server…so the user login request is LDAP based.

Question(s):

    How do I integrate Activiti Explorer 5.7 and LDAP? or is that even possible?

    How do LDAP users get used in the context of Activiti engine or Explorer, for instance, how do you add an LDAP user to an Activiti group? (for example, and admin group)
Thanks!

Yes, it's possible and it is already asked many many times on the forum. Please use the search for this.

While it is true there are many, many posts on the forums, none are complete and address specifically the detailed steps in integrating Activiti with an LDAP resource. The postings, I have seen which attempt the step by step, apply to a specific version…as I learned when integrating using 5.6 and 5.7 things changed.

Wouldn't it be easier if a supported example of LDAP integration existed in the Wiki?

I do not believe a single Enterprise installation of Activiti would not include some external integration for handling authentication/authorization. Just an idea. Not all of us on here are "expert" developers…many of us are just trying to install/configure the Activiti software into an Enterprise environment.

My apologies for the soapbox…but "go fish" is not much help…

Be our guest. If you aggragate all posts into something for the wiki tat would be great.

It is pluggable as you can read in the other posts. And from my experience, there are so many different ways, even within the LDAP realm, you can not provide functionality for everybody.

Then hire some where your knowledge is lacking.

Many of us are just trying to install/configure the Activiti software into an Enterprise environment.

Hahaha sorry, can't resist laughing.'Just trying…' and 'enterprise' is kind of a strange combination don't you think. Ever tried to just install … <fill in the blanks with any serious framework name> into an enterprise installation without people knowing what they do? Failure guaranteed.

My apologies for the soapbox…but "go fish" is not much help…
Sounds like an excuse for your own… No let's not go there, see my previous remark about filling the wiki and hirering… The fact that it is open source and free does not mean you can expect it to be an out of the box solution for all your problems.
