Hi all,

Recently just downloaded Alfresco 3c & try to install. Before this already tried version 2.x and succeed in using LDAP & chaining. But version 3 & 2 seem using different config method. So i would like to suggest for a separation for ver 3 & 2 of alfresco so that all the newbies don't get lost or finally get frustrated with alfresco. And please make a good sample config file eg chaining-authentication-context.xml.sample ; its better to include sample how can we use ldap in the chaining so that we can tailor it. Because sometimes it does make me think that alfresco not really "open" when they mention 'opensource' alternative. It doesn't hurt reading here and there to get the knowledge as long as you don't get lost in the tree of knowledge.

Thanks.

i've read the new doc on installing the stable release of alfresco 3 at http://wiki.alfresco.com/w/images/a/a1/Install_Configure_Alfresco_Lab3Final.pdf and it looks promising. Now downloading the files and can't wait to install. Thanks to the team for the nice & detail technical info.   Smiley Tongue

The new documentation for Labs 3 stable is nicer but I can't get chaining to work either.  I get Tomcat error 404 as soon as a enable chaining.

I am using Windows 2003 AD and Labs 3 stable.  LDAP authentication is fine but I need to be able to use the local admin for the different tenant administration.
Adding an user from active directory as an administrator in custom-authority-services-context.xml doesn't allow it administer tenants.

This guy has a nice post that might work using openldap but I haven't tried it, here is a link: http://nix.theism.de/alfresco-authentication-with-openldap-on-debian-etch/

So, if someone smarter than us knows how to make this work….let us know how to do it.  I will be very much appreciated.

Thank you.
