Jmeter How to know max. no. of users

Hi, everybody
I want to know how to determine the max no. of users that can access my web application at the same time.
say for example when increase this number the web application does not respond.

This seems to be a more generic question about load testing. 

Use a web load program, model a few test scenarios and increase number of users while monitoring the response times.
