Issue uploading documents to Alfresco

Hi!

I'm new to the boards and to Alfresco, but have been tasked with administering it for my organization.

Our users have been running into an issue where Alfresco crashes during document uploads. I haven't been able to replicate it myself, and the issue happens as far as I can tell only with our mac users, but to be fair we are mostly mac users.

Are there any known issues with safari / OSX / .mac web drives and uploading documents to Alfresco that anyone is aware of?

We're using community version.

Thanks for your help!

Uploads work well for me with both Safari and Firefox 3.5. The only issues we're aware of are due to the incredibly poor Flash plugin implementation on the Mac, but we have workarounds in place to support that.

Around half the Alfresco engineering team use Macs, so we'd be aware of any fundamental issue.

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks Mike!

My other thought is that currently the running user of Alfresco on our host is set to root, from my experience managing shared machines this can cause unwanted results.

Hi,

I am using Alfresco 3.2 Community Edition on Installed on Windows 2000 server (all default components in the installer package "release_community_build-2039_Alfresco-Community-3.2-Full-Setup" have been installed alongwith it). Its installed on a machine and we access the system through LAN. It had been working fine for more than a week till now.

But since yesterday we have been facing problem with all forms of content upload.Irrespective of the file size, all document upload is waiting awfully long. Although there are no error or warning log entries in the tomcat logger entry.

Please suggest regarding what could be the problem.

Thanks in advance !

Check your physical disk allocation – do you have enough room for the files? What about the JVM memory size?

When either is near the max, Alfresco (probably true of any Java app) will start thrashing pretty badly and performance goes through the floor.
