issue regarding the maximum file size which can be uploaded

Hi all,
       Iam exploring the alfresco. It looks great. I installed it on both windows and Linux. By using web interface, I could upload only 4MB data. If I try to upload morethan 4MB, the browser does not respond. It keeps on trying to upload. What is the maxmimum size we can upload using this webinterface.
If we cant upload large files, how can we use it for sharing files in a big project.
What is the maximum limit of the file size if we use CIFS feature, and copy
using network drive.

It would be great if some one can provide more information regarding this.

Hello,

Alfresco does not limit the size of file that can be uploaded.
I upload large mpeg files into Alfresco without any problem (several 100MB's)

Can you give us some more information on your Alfresco environment to help us attempt to solve your problem please?

  Thanks for the reply.. I have downloaded  alfresco-1.3.0-linux-community.bin from the site and installed on Debian machine.. All other features works fine (like workflow, Creating Space etc.) and uploading small files which are less than 4MB..
  One more issue we are facing..
   Desktop access (CIFS) feature is avaliable or not on Linux?
  We installed alfresco on Windows also, but in windows also , we didnot get the desktop access feature…
  when we tried to map to the drive, we are getting HostName_A, but there is no directory(Alfresco) inside it.
  Can you help me in this regard..

There is no problem in uploading and file can be as long as u wish.
go to import and select the file by browsing and click on upload

If you are running CIFS on a stand-alone machine, not connected to the network, the connection does not work. Otherwise, we experience that it works.

Maybe the reason why you had a problem.
