Have anyone able to install Alfresco in Linux if follow the readme ?

I tried version 2.1 and 2.2, both binary and tar.gz
seems to me this java CMS is very unstable.

Browser take very long time to load/deploy the war archive, which means
http://localhost:8080 or http://localhost:8080/alfresco is always loading.

Please help if ANYONE able to start it in Linux.

Hello,

Address already in use:8080

This error means you tried to launch Alfresco while an existing process was already using port 8080.
Please verify you don't have an already running tomcat instance when starting Alfresco.

What do you mean by "very unstable" ? Did you encounter some specific issues ?

I've seen you removed the error log from you original post …
I suppose you no longer have this problem.

Anyway, I confirm the readme contains everything you need to run Alfresco on Linux. My only advice is to use 2.1 tomcat bundle, which is easier to install at a first time.

Maybe a hundred times even if I've done it more on Windows Smiley Wink

As said in http://forums.alfresco.com/viewtopic.php?t=9593 , you should better explain what the problem is.

Maybe? A hundred times? Did you mean 100?

Yes, but it's not the important thing.

There's no doubt that some people have successfully installing using just the readme, or at least by giving a bit of information about their problems.

The question is: what kind of help do you need?

Hi albertl,

Can you please explain your problem so we can at least try to help you.

I've installed / deployed Alfresco on all our supported platforms too many times to count…
