Unable to read repository at http://activiti.org/designer/update/content.jar.
Unable to read repository at http://activiti.org/designer/update/content.jar.
Read timed out
I can read the directory http://activiti.org/designer/update/ in my browser, download the contents.jar…but in Eclipse I get this error…

I have the same kind of problem. I am using Eclipse Classic 3.6.2. When I installing the Activiti Eclipse BPMN 2.0 Designer plugin, i got this error:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: Activiti Eclipse BPMN 2.0 Designer 5.9.0 (org.activiti.designer.feature.feature.group 5.9.0)
Missing requirement: Activiti Eclipse BPMN 2.0 Designer 5.9.0 (org.activiti.designer.feature.feature.group 5.9.0) requires 'org.eclipse.core.runtime 3.7.0.v20110110' but it could not be found
I have tried to install this plugin into Eclipse Classic 3.7.2 too, but got this error:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: Activiti Eclipse BPMN 2.0 Designer 5.9.0 (org.activiti.designer.feature.feature.group 5.9.0)
Missing requirement: Activiti Eclipse BPMN 2.0 Designer 5.9.0 (org.activiti.designer.feature.feature.group 5.9.0) requires 'org.eclipse.emf 2.6.0' but it could not be found
Have tried to update eclipse for the missing 'org.eclipse.emf 2.6.0', but "No updates were found"
I don't have a proxy.
I am newbie in this Activiti /BPM.
p/s: English is not my native language; so please excuse typing errors.

I had the same problem when I was running Helios. When I upgraded to Indigo the problem was resolved. Activiti 5.9 only supports Indigo per previous post.

The "Install new software…" process seems to work fine, but nothing changed in Eclipse (no "Activiti Perspective", no "New activiti project", nothing…).
I can find "org.activiti.designer.feature_5.9.1" and "org.eclipse.graphiti.feature_0.9.0.v20120321-0814" folders in "features" folder,
the 8 org.activiti.designer.*.jar files and the 4 org.eclipse.graphiti*.jar in "plugins" folder,
but the Activiti Designer seems not to be installed anyway.
I attached here details on Installed software and Plug-ins of Eclipse Installation Details, it may help find out the reason why the Activiti Designer is not available.
Thank you for your help.

That's really strange. Do you have Java 6 installed as SDK in Eclipse?
Did you restart Eclipse after the installation?
Best regards,

I have both 1.5 and 1.6 installed…
I forced Eclipse Indigo running in 1.6 vm, and now everything seems to work as expected !
Thank you very much !
