implementing alfresco community edition

I have downloaded Alfresco community edition and installed. I am unable to create groups and add users to the group. I also need samples on workflow to be implemented on a document. All I could do was to create a site and add documents to document library.

Any help in this area is appreciable.

Which version are you using?   Are you using Share or Explorer or some other client?

I'm just a beginner searching for open source products similar to share point.
Both alfresco share and explorer are available for me from the community edition which I downloaded. How to know the version of alfresco from GUI?
What is the difference between alfresco share and explorer?

Yesterday I got some pdf document on this product.

I created a site and under document library, created two folders and populated some pdf/word documents. I doubt whether the search will provide us content based search on the documents in the document library or is it simply based on meta data?
More over is boolean search or fuzzy logic feature implemented in search.
