How to Load balance Alfresco without hardware load balancer

Hi,

I am new to alfresco implementation, i need to implement HA ( 2 servers) for alfresco for high availability purpose. I read the documentation, it mentioned that it requires hardware balancer. Can I implement HA without hardware load balancer? and how to do it?

I have not done load balance or HA for Alfresco, but for Oracle Applications, and Other web  related applications  I have done using
"nginx", being an Open source it is reliably and stable
Please do try it and see whether it is helpfull

No need for the balancer to be hardware.   Hardware/ software it will look the same to alfresco.

Thanks. Any recommendation for which software LB to be used? best it is open source type as it will not incurr additional cost to my project. Within alfresco, is there any documentation to talk about how to configure such thing?
