Hi,

I enabled ftp by adding the below properties in alfresco-global.properties.

### FTP Server Configuration ###
ftp.enabled=true
ftp.port=2121

Are there any other property files need to be modified to enable ftp server on alfresco?

I get a user-id password prompt but after successful login, nothing happens. ftp url - ftp://alfresco-test:2121/alfresco

In documentation, i see it is required to update file-servers-custom.xml but I do not see that file existing in alfreco, is this file available in community version?

Server: Alfresco Community 5.1

Please advise.

Hi Jeff, I'm experiencing the same issue. Ican log in using ftp and navigate using cd to get to (say) a alfresco/Sites/<sitename>/documentLibrary.

However, any use of ls produces this type of response:

229 Entering Extended Passive Mode (|||42257|)

After quite a while, I then get:

ftp: Can't connect to `<ip-address>': Operation timed out
200 Port OK
150 File status okay, about to open data connection
-rw-rw-rw-   1 user group 91328 Jun 20  2011 document1.pdf
drw-rw-rw-   1 user group 0 Apr 30  2013 Departments and Regions
226 Closing data connection

Any advice would be appreciated.

Looks like I just answered my own question. As soon as I set connect mode to Active, things began to roll...

Now my problem is having a network-connected scanner that only does passive mode.

In which case, is there a way to force Alfresco to use standard Passive mode?

And, once again, I have found my answer courtesy of Giuseppe Urso in Italy.

My network-connected scanner is operational once again.

Grazie Guiseppe!

You've configured FTP properly. I assume you've opened 2121 in the firewall so that clients can connect successfully?

It seems odd that you are able to login but do nothing else and you are not seeing any error messages. Once you've connected you cannot do an "ls" to list the contents of the remote directory?
