Hello,

I'm trying to collect some statistics about the usage of alfresco in my company.

I would like to get into my database a "top 10" pages which are the most visited.

How should I proceed to collect such an information?
Should I include in every page a small script that logs the access in the DB?
Or is there an method that is triggered each time a page change occurs which I could override?

thanks!

Have you looked at the audit options?

http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Audit_Configuration

I've only just started looking at this myself (as in, this morning), so not sure if it can be configured to track page views (it doesn't seem to using the default configuration, but does track document creation etc), but it may do what you want. Audit information is written into the alf_audit_fact database table.

Sam.

Thanks a lot, after reading the wiki about auditing that should do the trick 🙂

but unfortunately I didn't succeed in enabling the auditing as described in the wiki…

  • I created the custom-audit-services-context.xml and auditConfig.xml files, I putted them in WEB-INF\classes\alfresco\extension

  • I enabled the auditing by changing "false" into "true" in the auditConfig.xml
but when I launch alfresco and play around a bit all my audit tables in my database aren't populated…
What have I done wrong?

My fault… those files need to be copied under the "shared" directory… now it's working 🙂

Hi,

I followed the steps indicated in the post and after logging in to alfresco. This is the screen I get to see. Please advice.
