Hi,

I want to disable automatic archiving in Alfresco 3.4d Community Edition.

Is there any way to disable archiving of deleted content???

Thanks…

Hi,
Alfresco keeps documents 14 days after deletion but you can configure it easily in the file alfresco-global.properties.
More information here : http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Content_Store_Configuration#Cleaning_up_Orphaned_Content_.28Purge.29
And you should configure a CRON to delete automatically the folder "content.deleted".

Is the protectDays property of contentStoreCleaner applicable to "destroy" actions done in Records Management? "Delete" is different from "Destroy" in the records management lifecycle.

My requirement is to basically keep meta-data for search purposes after I "transfer" and "destroy" the content to save disk space.

Hi,
I'm quite sure that this property is not used in the records management module to manage the document lifecycle.
So, if I understand, you want to keep the Alfresco document (all meta data) but not the content. If it's your goal, you can empty your file when you transfer your document.

The model and the store definition define whether nodes are archived when they are deleted.   If you turn off archiving for either the store or the node type then a deleted node will not be added to an archive store.
