GoogleDocs integration ONLY with Sites?

I'm working with Alfresco 4.2.b community edition and I'm running into the same exceptions as are given in:

As in the subject, does GoogleDocs not work with documents that aren't in a site then?  e.g., documents in User Homes or Company Homes and similar.

If that's the case, are there plans to have GoogleDocs work with documents that aren't in a site?

Correct. The GoogleDocs V2 integration is designed to only work within Share sites.

You can open an enhancement request to try and get this functionality in front of the Product Management team.
