General questions on Alfresco

Hi,
I'm new to Alfresco and I've installed Alfresco Community 4.2 32-bit. I just want some confirmation on my understanding of this software.

When installing Alfresco, it comes with a web server software Tomcat, that stores everything about the interface and system, so running this server allows me to access to /alfresco and /share, correct?

From what I've read and understand, /alfresco is for admin, while /share is for end users. Both of these can be accessed by the same person on different machines as long as Alfresco is installed?

And the database postgreSQL is where all the users and documents data will be stored?

How do we add the additional attributes to the user profile in version 5. The solutions i found were of all previous version and i am not sure if it applies to the current version 5.
I am pretty new to alfresco, so descriptive answer would be helpful.
